John Mize
John Mize, AIA

John Mize is the Director of Project Management at Ford, Powell and Carson. He joined the firm in 1981 and became a partner in 1999. He concentrates his efforts in the fields of governmental and institutional work. Mize holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Houston.

He has served as Project Manager for many significant projects, including both restoration/preservation/renovation and new construction. Restoration/renovation projects include the Texas State Capitol, Texas Southmost College Library Expansion and Renovation in Brownsville, the Bexar County Adult Detention Center Renovations and the Club Giraud at the Southwest Craft Center in San Antonio. New construction projects include Mission County Club in Midland, Los Tomates Border Station and Port of Entry in Brownsville, and construction of the Southton Road Secure Juvenile Treatment Facility in San Antonio.

John Mize is certified by NCARB, currently licensed in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Colorado, and a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Texas Society of Architects. He is also active in several organizations, including his neighborhood organization, the Boy Scouts and Little League.
