TMI Master Plan
San Antonio

Master Plan, 2002

The master plan at the Texas Military Institute (TMI) was designed to promote the ethos of the school, to take advantage of the opportunities afforded by the site, and to build on the strengths of the existing facilities. The master plan will improve wayfinding as well as the visual quality of the campus in planning for growth to 600 students.

The master plan recommends the construction of new classroom buildings and a bell tower which will define the perimeter of a large campus green. The bell tower will be visible from all parts of campus and beyond, and will be connected by a covered walkway to the classroom buildings.

A new chapel will become the heart of the campus. The site's topography will allow excellent views to the rolling hills from the chapel and will also make daylighting possible for the lower-level social room and classrooms. New housing -- four new residence halls, four faculty houses, and a guest house -- will be constructed as well.
