Ford, Powell & Carson provided selection and design of interior furniture, fixtures, signage and flooring materials for this 200,000 square foot library. Furnishings were required to withstand years of high public use, to be responsive to current computer technology, and to complement the building's distinctive architecture.

The interior design team developed a palette of materials, finishes, and colors and prepared designs for building-specific furnishings. More than 33 custom designed items were created, including a large metal grille feature at the checkout counter, solid stone coffee tables, card catalog tables, 15 foot maple book stacks, custom maple benches, colorful sculptural forms in the children's area, and tables with inlaid wood veneer Texas Lone Stars.
